What is the MONEY Matters panel?

The MONEY Matters panel is a community of MONEY Magazine readers who provide valuable ideas and insights on a range of topics. MONEY regularly taps panelists to share their views on investing, saving and smart spending tips, personal finance and other important issues. MONEY Matters Panel members frequently have their insights and ideas included in articles and polls published in the magazine and on MONEY.com. Panelists have even been profiled in the magazine's MONEY Makeover series and elsewhere in the magazine.

Why should I join the MONEY Matters panel?

As a member, you will have the opportunity to influence decisions made by MONEY publishers, editors and marketers and to express your opinions on a wide range of subjects.
 
Registration is entirely free and there is no obligation to participate in surveys once you've registered.

Now I've joined the MONEY Matters panel, what happens next?

Once you have joined the MONEY Matters panel, as a panel member you will be sent survey invitations to your email address from time-to-time, depending on whether the subject matter matches your profile and interests. Clicking on a link in the invitation email will take you directly to the survey.

How often will I be invited to take part in online surveys?

You could receive an invitation to participate in a survey around once a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. You are free to take part in as many of the surveys as you wish and there is no obligation to participate.

In general, how long does an online survey take?

A survey lasts on average 10 to 20 minutes. We try to ensure that all the surveys will be as short, simple and as relevant as possible. 

Will you try to sell me something?

No, the information you share with us is purely for consumer research purposes.

 

I've forgotten my username or password. What do I do?

If you have forgotten your username or password, click on "Forgot my password" below the login area and enter your email address. You will then receive an email with your password and username.

How do I change my password and my email?

To change your password or email address, login and then click on the ‘My Profile' tab. Enter your new password or email address and then click 'Update'.

How can I change my personal information?

To change your personal information, login to the MONEY Matters panel website and go to the ‘My Profile' tab. You will then be able to view your personal information that you provided when you registered, which you can modify at any time. Remember to click ‘Update' after modifying your information.

How do I leave the MONEY Matters panel?

We appreciate your participation in the MONEY Matters panel and encourage you to remain part of our community. However, if you would like to unsubscribe at any time, you may do so by clicking "unsubscribe" in the bottom left hand corner of the panel site once you have logged in. 

What will you do with the information I share with you?

In our surveys and polls we will ask some questions about you, such as your age, gender, interests, employment and purchasing behavior, in order to help us develop general trends about the MONEY Matters panel. This information is reported in aggregate only and all information you provide will be kept completely confidential, and will not be shared or sold to any third parties.

What if I'm not receiving any emails?

You should receive a confirmation email when you register for the MONEY Matters panel and an email for every survey we invite you to participate in. If you're not getting emails from the MONEY Matters panel, please make sure you check your spam folder or click on the ‘Contact Us' button at the bottom of the MONEY Matters panel homepage.

How is the information from the MONEY Matters panel used?

The information from the MONEY Matters panel is used to provide feedback for MONEY as well as develop products and services of interest to you. Aggregate responses from the MONEY Matters panel are also used to help our advertisers better understand your interests and needs. Your personally identifiable information will not be shared with anyone and will be subject to our Privacy Policy.

Will I get spam as a result of registering for the MONEY Matters panel?

No. The MONEY Matters panel has been created purely for consumer research purposes. Your personal contact details will only be used by MONEY Magazine to contact you for research purposes.
